Overview

[11C]AZD2995 is a radioligand developed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of β-amyloid depositions in the human brain. It has a lower lipophilicity (logD of 1.3) compared to similar compounds like AZD2184 (logD of 1.8) and PIB (logD of 2.8). The compound was designed to have minimal nonspecific binding for research and multitracer studies of amyloid-β in Alzheimer's disease. In preclinical studies, [3H]AZD2995 demonstrated the highest signal-to-background ratio in brain tissue from Alzheimer's disease patients and transgenic mice compared to AZD2184 and PIB.
